Regional Dialogue is committed to supporting Uzbekistan in its implementation of the new Constitution and modernization of the criminal justice system.

Our experts have, in the past, assisted Uzbekistan on these issues, advising on legislation drafting and conducting specific trainings on different related subjects, raising their legal and practical capacity to protect and uphold the rights and freedoms of individuals. After the new Constitution came into force in May last year, there is an even greater need for assistance in implementing its provisions into laws and practice. To provide an insightful international perspective, we invited Judge John Tunheim, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota; Marc Richard, Executive Director of the International Criminal Law Network; and Katja ล ugman Stubbs, Slovenian Constitutional Court Judge and Professor of Criminal Procedure Law, to participate at the conference.
