Mjuša Sever Joins International Human Rights Discussion at 33rd Economic Forum in Poland

Mjuša Sever, Co-founder and Director of Regional Dialogue was invited to speak at the panel on “Protection of Human Rights in Conflict areas” at the 33rd Economic Forum taking place in Karpacz, Poland from 3-5 September 2024. The Economic Forum traditionally brings together participants from all sides of the globe to focus on the most crucial issues in security and political affairs, science, technology, health, and the global economy, and is usually attended by more than 6000 participants from all over the world.

The panel on Human Rights in Conflict Areas took place on 5 September and included Ms. Sever, alongside Sera Koulabdara from Legacies of War (USA), Oleksandra Romantsova from the Center for Civil Liberties (Ukraine), and Ida Sawyer from Human Rights Watch. The event was moderated by Olga Manole from Promo-LEX (Moldova). The discussion highlighted the critical role of nongovernmental organizations in protecting human rights and advancing conflict resolution, a point strongly emphasized by all participants. It underscored the invaluable contributions these organizations make in addressing these pressing global issues. Panelists’ perseverance, determination, and tireless efforts to defend human rights made up for an inspiring discussion and we wish them to continue making a profound impact.
