On 11 June, Regional Dialogue, in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, convened a roundtable discussion on children’s rights, bringing together experts from Uzbek government agencies and international organizations. The discussion focused on exploring current challenges and potential solutions for the effective protection of children’s rights, an area to which Uzbekistan has been paying special attention. Uzbekistan has committed to an ambitious agenda for transformative change, aiming to build an inclusive, prosperous, Rule of Law country and adopted several important legislations. In light of these changes, Prof. Dr. Miro Cerar, Regional Dialogue’s Rule of Law Advisor, emphasized the importance of cooperation between different governmental as well as non-governmental institutions to ensure the protection of children’s and youth rights.
The event was supported by Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL).
